Vasyl Kosiuk, chief agronomist at Agrokray LLC, said that under conditions of moisture deficit and summer droughts across virtually all of Ukraine it makes more sense to grow early-maturing varieties of winter wheat and other crops. This was reported by SuperAgronom.com.
The specialist noted that, given the weather of recent years, his own farm is gradually switching to early-maturing varieties, since they stand a better chance of using the moisture reserves available in the soil and developing successfully.
