Whenever the factors influencing a future harvest are listed, seed quality always comes first. It is the small seed that holds the genetic potential which breeders built into the variety or hybrid. Later, in a commercial crop, how far those properties are realised depends on conditions and on the agronomist’s skill. But first the agronomist must receive seed that was grown and prepared specifically for that purpose — and that process calls for special approaches. We found out how quality seed material for the Biligrain brand is grown and produced at Agrokray LLC in the Khmelnytskyi region.
